'If you think you are confused, consider poor Columbus. He didn't know where he was going and when he got there he didn't know where he was and when he got back he didn't know where he had been!' ~Author Unknown
It is easy to get confused in life? How does one make sense of all that's happening around us? In Ireland there is only one story at the moment and that is the floods. Then you could add strikes, the budget next month, the Dublin Diocesan report to be released this week, the ongoing recession, tax cuts, unemployment and much more. It is impossible to put them all together and try to make sense of everything that is happening. No wonder we are confused. People are crying out for good leadership, openness, honesty and some direction. We turn to God too in our confusion. There are stories within scripture of confusion, about people feeling let down, betrayed and hurt. But all the stories are about God walking with us in our confusion and darkness. We pray to God today to gently guide us when we are feeling confused, lost or lonely. We pray for direction, light and hope where it is most needed.
