'Expose yourselves to the best things humans have done and then try and bring those things into what you are doing.' ~Steve Jobs
Maybe we compare ourselves a lot to celebrities and famous people. We admire their looks, talents, achievements and success. They get maximum exposure so its only natural we think about them and even wish we could be like them. But we sometimes forget obvious people who can also be a positive influence in our lives. One could call these people ordinary and down to earth. They will never make the headlines but it's the quality of their lives that's worth taking note of. It may be a friend, a grandparent, an elderly neighbour or someone we admire and respect. In ways these people really are the celebrities. These are the people we should take note of. We can allow these people to touch, inspire and influence us. What a shame if we take them for granted. Who in my life falls into this category? Do I take them for granted? If I do am I willing to do something about it? |
