'We want to be everything we claim to be but somehow we don't seem able to manage it, not all the time at any rate. Our hurry, our unwillingness to linger over anything, is a mark of our lack of ease with life. We are not at home in our own skins.' ~Catherine Wybourne
We know that at times we're too busy and that the pace of life can be hectic at times. There are few who have the luxury of a stress free, easy and relaxed day. It is often hard to find the balance between what needs to be done and time for ourselves. But in finding the balance we must know that if we're not at ease or comfortable with ourselves, it is hard to be at ease with life in general. If we're not at ease, we will always be running or as it has been put, not at home in our own skins. In all of our Gospel stories, we find Jesus helping people to be comfortable with themselves. He helped them to accept their humanity, their gifts and talents, their strengths and positives and their weaknesses and shadows. The same invitation is extended to us as well. The best place to start with anything good today is you. |
