Photo was taken under the cliffs at Wicklow Golf Club and outskirts of Wicklow Town (Irl)
An easterly wind across the Irish sea generated huge swell and waves across the weekend particularly on Saturday. These cliff walks are normally quiet, pituresque and calm but our photo today shows a different story. Using a long lens from a safe distance it was possible to capture the power of the sea in such a dramatic way. Such photos are normal for November-Dec-Jan but are most unusual for this time of year.

‘Come now, put aside your business for a while, take refuge for a little from your tumultuous thoughts, cast off your cares and let your burdensome distractions wait. Take some leisure time with God and rest awhile with God.’ ~St. Anselm
Today is the feast of Anselm who lived over a thousand years ago and was a great thinker and writer of his time. But even back then he recognised a great need to take a step back from all we do and to take time to reflect. A quick response might be to say that such stuff is reserved for saints and all those who have a halo round their heads! But it’s a basic need in every human person to pause, reflect, unwind and allow God to nourish our human spirit in some way. Some can do it through prayer but it’s not the only way. Anyone who can take a few steps aside from the hectic pace of life in whatever way is doing themselves a great favour.
