The Primrose thrives beside streams and running water. It often grows in clumps together and will come up year after year. It’s colours are also striking making it stand out at the moment on the many nature trails through the Dominican Organic Farm.

‘Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money.’ ~Indian Proverb
Earth Day was celebrated yesterday across the world. Global warming has been well highlighted as a major concern but the day was also about looking at ways of caring for the world we live in. The late Pope John Paul II said our responsibility towards nature and creation is an essential part of our faith. Last evening’s RTE programme ‘Living The Wildlife’ highlighted the plight of the river mussel. All our rivers across Ireland are polluted giving it little chance of survival. The one common link in all religions is that they call us to nurture the world we live in. The basis for this call may differ but the message is the same: we have come from the earth, we will return to it and in between we must care for it too.
