She set about founding an order dedicated praying for all the holy souls in purgatory. Her main work was in Paris and as time went on her work spread out into the street of Paris. They came across alcoholism, prostitution, destitution and overcrowding on a scale they could not have imagined. They plunged into this situation, caring for the suffering of the sick and preaching the gospel as they did so. Her community became known as the Helpers of the Holy Souls. She died on the 7th Feb 1871.

Today is her feast day and we ask her many blessings on us. Amen
