‘They say the Lord works in strange ways and I honestly believe that he has a particular hand in the creation of those who radiate joy and happiness. Whether it has been stimulated by some event in their lives when they were young or parents that instilled an air of happiness in them or their first teacher, these so blessed are ‘daily specials’ in all our lives.’ ~Francis Brennan
We all know people in our lives who are our ‘daily specials’. It might just be their presence, their smile, their openness, their word of encouragement, their love, their support, their enthusiasm or the simple way they go about things. There are many other reasons why we could call them our ‘daily specials’. But they are special to us and that’s all that matters. Working as a school chaplain in Col√°iste Choilm, I am surrounded by hundreds of ‘daily specials’ each day. No one day is ever the same. They bring their own uniqueness and their something special each day. All I have to do is to just be open to it and then to nurture, encourage and support them on whatever journey they may be on.
Who are the ‘daily specials’ in your life? Today is a good a day as any to appreciate them for the many blessings they bring to your life and it’s also a good opportunity to say a prayer for them too. We ask the Lord, to continue to gently guide, direct and bless them each day.
