Photo was taken at Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí, (Bantry Community College), Bantry, Co.Cork (Irl)

Yesterday was a day of song, music, drama, poetry and art in Ireland’s 4,000 schools and third-level colleges as they celebrated Proclamation Day, commemorating events of Ireland in 1916 and creating a vision for the country in the future. In our school in Col√°iste Pobail Bheanntra√≠ (Bantry Community College) we had two beautiful celebrations, one for junior cycle students and the other for senior students. Different pictures were taken but the one I have up today was the one that took the most time to put together! It was taken at the end of a very memorable day in our school. It was worth the wait!

Thought For The Week

The following reflection is a different take on Psalm 23 and puts the emphasis very much on the need to slow down and not to be rushing without reason or purpose. It is called “The Lord Is My Pace Setter” and the author is unknown

The Lord is my Pace Setter, I shall not rush. He makes me stop and rest for quiet intervals. He provides me with images of stillness which restore my serenity. He leads me in ways of efficiency through calmness of mind and his guidance is peace. Even though I have a great many things to accomplish each day I will not fret. For his presence is there. His timelessness, his all importance will keep me in balance. He prepares refreshment and renewal in the midst of my activity, by anointing my mind with his oils of tranquility. My cup of joyous energy flows. Surely harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruits of my hours, for I shall walk in the pace of my Lord and dwell in his house forever.
