They are a rare sight particularly in Ireland. I haven’t seen one in a long time. Modern farming has pushed them into near extinction. This frog was in the garden and up on a cabbage leaf. It posed and gave me enough time to get a quick photo before it jumped off and away!

The Nobel Peace prize winner Albert Camus once famously said he would rather live his life as if there were a God and die to find out there isn’t, rather than live his life as if there wasn’t and die to find out there is. So much has been written about belief, faith and the difference it can make to our lives. Our human heart pumps and beats life giving blood around our body. Our human heart also beats with key questions, who are we? why are we here? and what does it all mean? It would be a brave person to try and answer these questions in a few minutes.

Deep within ourselves we know it is God who can answer all our questions. It is God who in some way directs us through the complexities and fragility of this world. On our own it would be impossible and frustrating. But with a sense of God in our lives we are always in a much better position to cope and adapt to whatever life may throw at us. Having a sense of God in our lives doesn’t mean having it all worked out, but is so much better than having nothing at all.
