I would like to wish you a Happy New Year and every blessing for 2024💕 Our photo today was taken as I walked over one of the bridges on the South Link Road, Cork, with a beautiful skyline in the background. Already the little stretch in the evenings is most noticeable and is also most welcome! If you are returning to work today after the Christmas holidays,  I hope your day is not too busy and with lots of small steps you will get through this day!
On This Day
On Jan 2nd 2018 the World Health Organisation revealed it will classify gaming addiction as mental health condition in its next classification of diseases
Significance of this day
Today is World Introvert Day. In a world where extroversion is the dominant force that likes the spotlight, (with 60% or more of the population claiming the label of ‘extrovert’) introversion takes place behind the scenes. But today it gets the spotlight. Being an introvert means a person brings a gentle and quiet energy to their day. And in our sometimes loud and fast moving world, an introvert brings a beautiful balance and blessing to our world.

Quote for Today
Take a leap of faith and begin this wondrous new year by believing. Believe in yourself. And believe that there is a loving Source – a sower of dreams – just waiting to be asked to help you make your dreams come true. ~Sarah Ban Breathnach
Did you know that..
Did you know that a Pope was the cause of our year starting on January 1st. The Gregorian calendar was introduced in October of 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII as a revised version of the Julian calendar. It took almost 350 years for the world to get on board. Turkey didn’t make the switch until 1927.
As we celebrate the New Year I share with you the following video
Video for the Week🎥
The video is called ‘A Prayer For A Happy New Year’ and a new video will be posted here tomorrow Wednesday Jan 3rd
Here is my Thought for the Week:
A Â Prayer for a Happy New Year
As we start this New Year may we walk gently.
May we be kind and gentle with ourselves each day.
May we have courage and hope during the difficult days
May we hold the light for others when we sense their darkness and difficulty
May we take lots of small steps rather than those random big leaps
May we trust our God, the creator of all life knowing we have a beautiful purpose in life.
May we try to do our best each day knowing this is all we can do.
May we treasure the gift that is today knowing that the real treasure is the beauty and simplicity that you bring to this day.
May we do our best to make the most of this coming year
