Today is the longest day of the year but it actually was yesterday!!
Today is normally the summer solstice but it actually happened yesterday at 9.50pm! It is the earliest it has happened in more than 325 years. So the summer solstice happened on June 20th this year. But for the next few days we are aware of so much light all around us at this time of year.
This is a time of abundance in nature. Spiritually we know it is a time of abundance each day too as we can receive many beautiful spiritual blessings. There is no charge or fee for these blessings. All we need is just to be open to receiving them. It is our heartfelt belief that God is so generous with spiritual blessings. We welcome these beautiful blessings every day but especially today.

Thought For The Week

“If your legs are tired, run with your heart” ~Tobias Heinze

Like many people I found myself glued to the television watching the European Athletics from Rome last week. But on Wednesday evening the women’s 400-meter relay race was the icing on the cake. The Irish team of Sophie Becker, Rhasidat Adeleke, Phil Healy and Sharlene Mawdsley did us all proud winning silver and recording an Irish National record of three minutes and 22.71 seconds.

These women will be such a positive influence on so many of our younger generations. After the race their smiles, enthusiasm and energy during the interviews touched us all. The race is made up of a team of four and each athlete completes one 400m lap each before handing over the baton to the next player.

It could be easy to overlook the handing over. There is no room for error. If you drop the baton your race is over. It reminds me of all the good things we hand over to each other and how important they are. We hand over beautiful values like love, respect, kindness, faith, hope, courage, resilience, light, determination, peace and so much more.

It is important we hand these on to those who are important in our lives. We don’t do it on our own, we do it together. It is teamwork. When you are part of a team you feel valued, respected and loved. Jesus was also very much into teamwork. Nobody was to be excluded. Nobody was to be left out. We continue this teamwork today as best we can. We all have a part to play in handing on so many beautiful values. Our world desperately needs these values. You are part of the team too. Finally a huge congratulations to all our Irish athletes who have done us so proud in recent days.
