Significance Of Today
Today is World Egg Day. They are simply one of the oldest foods known to us. Eggs have played an important role in the lives and health of humans since the beginning of the human race. It is well known that they are full of protein and make simple but delicious meals like scrambled egg and are used constantly in baking.
Interesting Quote for Today
“A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though your friend knows that you are slightly cracked.” ~Bernard Meltzer
An egg shell can have as many as 17,000 pores.
Egg yolks are one of the few foods that naturally contain Vitamin D
Duck eggs are higher in fat and better for baking
If you drop an egg on the floor, sprinkle it heavily with salt for an easy clean up.

Thought For The Week
Team means Together Everyone Achieves More!’ ~Author Unknown
Science has a great way of explaining different things to us. Some scientific results can be applied to life and sometimes with a spiritual message. At an agricultural event scientists gathered and watched one horse pull 3,000kgs and another 4,000 kgs. Together they would be expected to pull 7,000 kgs. However, when they were paired together and measured, the two horses were able to pull a total weight of 15,000kgs. This is impressive. Scientists call it the principle of synergy.
Synergy is explained as the interaction of two parts working together to create something better than either original component. To put it another way, more can be done through team effort than can be accomplished by each individual member. In order for the principle of synergy to work, there has to be teamwork.
We sense and know this. We know that when a team works together great things can happen. In sport there have been great comebacks even when the odds were stacked against them. It is not putting our effort down or saying our effort is not important. But when we can work with someone else, when we can share a worry or crisis with somebody, when we ask for advice or reach out in hope to someone else, the results are so much better.
In the Gospel of Luke we read how Jesus sent them out in pairs ahead of him, into every town and village that Jesus had planned to visit. This was not by chance or accidental. Jesus knew that working together works. It’s the same principle still working today. Who can you reach out to, to make it work better for you?
