This is the Inniscarra Bridge situated on the outskirts of Ballincollig, Co.Cork. The low winter sun yesterday afternoon illuminated the underside of this bridge, which only happens at this time of year. It is a 24 arch road bridge, built around 1820, spanning the River Lee, having twelve-arches over river and twelve arches on land to the south.  It of course today carries  substantially heavier and more traffic than its designers and builders could have imagined. Today it stands as a testament to their wonderful skills.

Spiritual Thought For The Week

A Prayer for a Happy New Year 2025 – As we start the new year it is good to pause and pray for some important things as we move into 2025

A Prayer for a Happy New Year

As we start this New Year may we walk gently. May we be kind and gentle with ourselves each day. May we have courage and hope during the difficult days May we hold the light for others when we sense their darkness and difficulty May we take lots of small steps rather than those random big leaps May we trust our God, the creator of all life knowing we have a beautiful purpose in life. May we try to do our best each day knowing this is all we can do. May we treasure the gift that is today knowing that the real treasure is the beauty and simplicity that you bring to this day. May we do our best to make the most of this coming year Amen
