Many parts of Southern Ireland are covered in snow this week with many schools closed again today. Heavy frosts are also making our roads really treacherous. Our photo today was taken by Jacinta O’Connor and is a picture postcard snow moment while she was out for a walk

Significance Of Today

Today is World Typing Day. In a world where so many things are texted, voice messaged or video called, the written and typed word may seem to have gone a little by the wayside in personal communication. World Typing Day is here to celebrate this still-efficient form of written communication,

Interesting Quote For Today

Video for the Week🎥

This is my latest new video and it is called ‘Some of the Spiritual Blocks in our lives’. A walk along by the River Aubane created the inspiration!

As we start 2025 this video is simply called ‘A Prayer for a Happy New Year’

With all the recent snow in different parts of Ireland including Millstreet, Co.Cork this video seems a good recommendation🙏

Spiritual Thought For The Week

On Monday we celebrated the Epiphany and the story of the wise men visiting Jesus and it is always celebrated on January 6th. It is a beautiful feast day and is celebrated in many parts of the world.

The story of the Epiphany is probably one of the best known scripture stories and in particular how they followed a very bright star. It is certain that they were the first astrologers and a leading group in exploring the wonders of our amazing universe that we now know is 13.6 billion years old.

The journey of the wise men was slow, reminding us how important it is to take our time with many things in life. Sometimes in life we need to slow down and less is often more. As they followed the star, they had a sense that our universe is so much bigger than our tiny world. For the wise men they knew there was something more to this life. It was not random and for them the real meaning of life was to be found with Jesus.

For 2025 Pope Francis has launched a Jubilee Year. It happens every 25 years and is a time of prayer, pilgrimage and reflection. The theme of the Jubilee Year is ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. Pope Francis is encouraging us to be people of hope and to know God’s light and hope is always near us. The wise men were certainly pilgrims of hope. They may not have had all the answers but they were willing to do their best to find meaning and purpose in life. They are our inspiration as well, as we begin this special Jubilee Year that is 2025.
