Sarah Duxbury gets a bit stuck in the mud yesterday! Her 2nd year class group from Col√°iste Choilm in Ballincollig, climbed up much of Mangerton mountain yesterday. Conditions were not ideal but the fun, laughter and memories made up for the muddy conditions underneath!

‘Passion or enthusiasm, doesn’t just make us attractive to others, it feeds our spirit. Until we’ve found something to be passionate about, we’re simply skimming the surface of existence.’ ~Patricia Redlich
The recent death of Patricia Redlich was met with much sadness. Her down to earth, practical advice and honest opinions touched many. She was passionate about life and passionate about making the most of every opportunity. In one of her letters she wrote: “I don’t ever give up. I just change direction when I reach a dead end. Sometimes that involves a compromise. Sometimes it involves recognising that there is such a thing as an unmanageable situation. It may be that I have to accept that I can’t have what I am striving for. But it’s never about giving up or despairing or being defeated. It’s always about that exciting process of conquering obstacles.” It is sometimes easy to give up and not change direction when we do hit obstacles in life. Not to give up can sometimes require great courage, particularly during these tough, difficult and challenging times. We pray today for the courage, strength and energy to rise above challenges and obstacles. In remembering Patricia Redlich, “Ar deis de, go raibh a ainm usuail.”
