I am re-sharing this photo that I put up last Monday. I really like the colours in the photo. It was taken last week at Bantry, West Cork (Irl)
Getting out for an early morning walk always has some surprise or some eye catching moment. This beautiful skyline over Bantry really took my breath away with its beauty and colour
Thought on Wednesday – December – 16/12/2020
A dad passed his daughter’s room one night and overheard her repeating the alphabet in an oddly reverent way. ‘What on earth are you up to?’ he asked. ‘I’m saying my prayers,’ explained the little girl. ‘But I can’t think of exactly the right words tonight, so I’m just saying all the letters. God will put them together for me, because God knows what I’m thinking.
We often are in a similar position. On occasions we’re simply stuck for words and not sure how to express our prayers in the way we want. We’re often reduced to simply holding the letters. Some don’t even get that far and give up thinking it’s a futile task. But holding the letters is always a good place to be.
As we approach Christmas we can hold all those letters. They can include our inner most thoughts and whatever is going on for us at the moment. They can include our loved ones, our closest friends and those who special in our lives. They can include those who have hurt and let us down. They can include our hopes and dreams. The letters are many. Sometimes the words come easy but if we struggle with them, let God put them together for you.
