Storm Franklin was the latest storm to hit Ireland yesterday, the third in the week. It dumped a lot of rain causing normally quiet rivers to overflow, including the Ouvane River at Kealkill

On February 21st 1916 the Battle of Verdun during World War 1 began. It led to an estimated 1 million casualties and became the longest battle of the entire war (9 months) With the current tensions between Ukraine and Russia it seems we will never learn from history

Interesting Quote for Today
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

Did You Know Farmed Salmon is dyed pink. Wild salmon is naturally pink because of all the shrimp they eat.
Meanwhile, farm-raised salmon have a different diet and end up being white. However, they are fed specific plant pigments to get the same hue as wild salmon.

Thought For The Week
A reflection called ‘The World Goes On’
Storm Eunice and Storm Franklin brought a temporary halt to our normal routines over the past few days but thankfully moved through quickly and moved on to the UK and beyond. It is the nature of everything to keep moving on, including storms. It is the way it has been and always will be.
If we pause for a moment and briefly forget all that we have to do. If we can pause for those few moments and forget everything that is going on around us. We will then make a surprising discovery, that the world actually goes on without us. And that’s ok!!
This means that all we do and all our rushing about is not as important as we imagine. If we can realise this, that the world will actually go on without us, a healing process begins.
This healing allows us to see our value and how special we are. The world we live in may not always tell us this or even have the time to remind us of our true value. Spiritually it has always been the focus. It was exactly what Jesus did. He kept reminding people around him of their value, how special they were and that they were a reflection of the beauty and love of God.
Spiritually we also need to this more often. We need to pause and appreciate our value and how precious we are. The only requirement is to just be ourselves. We surrender ourselves into the hands of God. We are at peace. All will be ok.
